What is Your Uniform?

There was a lot of talk on social media last month about selecting a uniform for the year. Which got me thinking, what will my uniform be for 2025? I’m embarking on this new chapter in life where I have the freedom to wear something other than corporate clothes during the week. This freedom is allowing me to experiment with different silhouettes. I’ve always had a dress code to adhere to. What will I wear now that I don’t have a daily dress code? Stay tuned while we figure it out together.

I know the mindset of quality over quantity will stay with me. Less is more to me when it comes to clothes. I would rather invest in one pair of nice jeans and wear them over and over than have fifteen halfway decent pairs to pick from that don’t make me feel my best. If you follow me on Instagram, you probably recognize the wide leg pants in the photo above. I wore them on my last flight to Vancouver. I also brought them with me to Georgia last week. The scarf is also something I’ve worn multiple times. I’m trying to lean into neutrals to make it easier to mix and match when I’m getting dressed in the morning. I think my tendency to pick something bright or bold was perhaps my way of rebelling against having to wear business casual clothes for so long.

I would assume a lot of you have a uniform without even realizing it. What you wear most often is what you can call your style. We’re all in different seasons of life and I understand we don’t all have the same amount of time to dedicate to selecting an outfit each morning. I do hope you’ll think of how you want to show up this year. How you want to present yourself to your family and friends. One of my favorite things about fashion is that it allows introverts like me the opportunity to make a statement without saying a word.
