Street Style Vol. 1

My first attempt was made this week to recreate a look I found online. The off duty look Jennifer Lawrence is wearing in the photo above is one we can all easily attempt. Nothing in the outfit is too outlandish. I figured this would be a good place to start. I began by searching my closet to see what I have vs what I’m missing. Turns out I don’t own a black bag of any shape or size and the only cap I have is the Duke cap I bought at a basketball game with my Dad and brother in Durham. It’s a special keepsake that I won’t ever give away or get rid of. With items I already own, here’s what I was able to come up with:

The hat: to be honest I had to bend the rules a bit on this one. The hat is actually Russ’ but it was in my closet so I think it’s fair game. The Duke cap was too bright for the outfit I wanted to create.

The t-shirt: stay tuned for a Back to Basics white t-shirt post…this is the style I’ve been reaching for time and time again. I’m curious to try a few other white t-shirts that have top rated reviews.

The pants: I get more compliments when I wear these vintage pants than most items I own.

The flats: you aren’t able to tell what type of shoe Jennifer is wearing in the inspo pic. I went with the velvet flats instead of the expected dark sneaker choice.

The bag: this tote was part of a gift from an event I attended in Dallas.

Here are new items available online to recreate Jennifer’s look almost exactly: hat, shirt, pants, bag
