Red Corduroy Maxi

According to my Mom, red is my color. The color that I look best in that is. I of course wanted to look and feel my best for my first Christmas with Russ’ family. Up until a few weeks before Christmas, I still didn’t have my Christmas day outfit planned. In early December we had a few minutes to spare before lunch in Charleston, so we stopped by Madison Mathews. I wore a Madison Mathews dress to a fashion event in Florida last summer and had been hoping to see their store and shop in person one day. As soon as I saw this red dress, I knew it would be perfect for Christmas. The stylist in the store mentioned that a lot of ladies are sizing down one size because of the shape of the dress. They didn’t have an XS in stock, so I bought my usual size Small.

Back in the suburbs of Dallas, I spotted this satin bow at Target and thought it would be fun to wear with the red dress. I haven’t worn bows in my hair since middle school. It was fun to feel young again!

Let’s talk shoes. Because Christmas day and dinner at Russ’ Mom’s house was a special occasion, I wanted to wear fancy shoes. I was gifted these silver kitten heels from a company called LifeStride. They no longer have this exact pair, but here are their newest pair of silver pumps.

I also wore this red dress to Holub Christmas in Texas. One of my aunts had on a similar dress in forest green! I guess you could say this style is trending.
